Hello guys! How are you?
I know it's been a long time since my last article (as always :P), but if you follow me on social networks you might know that I was on holidays in Italy, my homeland.
I always wanted to tell you about an adventure in a very special place I visited last spring, just when my parents came to visit me here in Finland. I went to this place, because I read many nice reviews about it, but especially because I wanted to take my mom there since she's a doll and a Barbie collector, so she couldn't absolutely miss this place.
Do you have any clue of which place I'm talking about? What can it be if I mention the word toy? If your guess is Suomenlinna toy museum, you got it right!
The museum is located in Suomenlinna at the ground floor of Vasiljevin Huvila, a villa which belonged to the captain Vasiljev built in 1911.
The Suomenlinnan lelumuseo was started in 1985 by the ceramist artist and antique dealer Piippa Tandefeldt, and now is being continued by her daughter Petra since 2003. The collection includes antique and vintage toys like dolls, tin toys, teddy bears, doll's houses, Barbies and some pieces from the Soviet Union. All the toys you'll find in the museum are collected from Finland and show the life, culture and play of Finnish children and society. Even though the museum is not that big, the collection items are so beautiful and in such a good condition that you'll immediately fall in love with all of them. The arrangement of the toys is really aesthetically pleasing, everything is on point, there is not one thing out of place, I swear. Literally every single toy is studied in detail.
And now you're wondering what was my favorite spot in the museum, right? Well hard to choose for sure, however the thing that attracted me most was the giant teddy bear at the entrance. Taking a picture with it's a must! And here I am! ;)
Another thing that I loved was obviously the Barbie spot and then all the miniature houses.
At the entrance of the villa you'll bump into the dreamy tea room, called Café Samovarbar, which hosts a beautiful terrace in the summer season. In the cafe you'll find a corner, right before the museum section, where you can buy vintage toys reproduction, miniatures and much more. Directly from the cafe cash register you can also buy the tickets to the museum and if you own the museokortti like I do, you can show that as well and enter without paying anything extra, otherwise the ticket costs 9 euros.
Since it's still Summer and the museum is open every day until the end of September, I really recommend you to visit it if you want to go back to childhood for a moment, otherwise if you can't make it, you can visit it during the Christmas season, with all the christmassy decorations. Outside these two main seasons the museum is open mainly on weekends and during the Easter holidays as well!

Viaggio nell'infanzia a Suomenlinna
Ciao ragazzi! Come state?
So che è passato molto tempo dal mio ultimo articolo (come sempre :P), ma se mi seguite sui social, avrete sicuramente notato che ero in vacanza in Italia, la mia terra natia.
Ho sempre voluto raccontarvi di un'avventura in un luogo molto speciale che ho visitato nel periodo di Pasqua, proprio quando la mia famiglia è venuta a trovarmi qui in Finlandia. Ho visitato questo posto, perché ho letto molte recensioni positive a riguardo, ma soprattutto perché volevo portarci mia madre dato che è una collezionista di Barbie e bambole, quindi non poteva assolutamente perdersi questo posto.
Avete idea di quale posto stia parlando? Cosa può essere se cito la parola giocattolo? Se state pensando al museo dei giocattoli di Suomenlinna, avete indovinato!
Il museo si trova a Suomenlinna al piano terra di Vasiljevin Huvila, una villa appartenuta al capitano Vasiljev costruita nel 1911.
Il Suomenlinnan lelumuseo è stato fondato nel 1985 dalla ceramista e commerciante di antiquariato, Piippa Tandefeldt, e ora continuato dalla figlia Petra dal 2003. La collezione comprende giocattoli antichi e vintage come bambole, giocattoli di latta, orsacchiotti, case di bambole, Barbie e alcuni giocattoli provenienti dall'Unione Sovietica. Tutti i giocattoli che troverete nel museo sono stati collezionati in Finlandia e mostrano la vita, la cultura e il gioco sia dei bambini che della società finlandesi.
Anche se il museo non è molto grande, gli oggetti della collezione sono così belli e in ottime condizioni che ve ne innamorerete immediatamente. La disposizione dei giocattoli è così piacevole alla vista, letteralmente studiata nei minimi dettagli, niente è lasciato al caso, non c'è nulla fuori posto, ve lo posso assicurare.
E ora vi starete chiedendo qual era il mio angolo preferito nel museo, giusto? Difficile sceglierne uno, tuttavia la cosa che mi ha attratta di più è stato l'orso di peluche gigante all'ingresso. Fare una foto in sua compagnia è d'obbligo!
Un'altra cosa che ho adorato è stato l’angolo dedicato alle Barbie dove vi erano esposte e ovviamente tutte le casette in miniatura.
Appena entrati nella villa, vi troverete in una sala da tè da sogno, il Café Samovarbar, che nella stagione estiva ospita una bellissima terrazza. Lì potrete gustare delle torte sfornate ogni giorno, accompagnate da un tè o caffè. Nel caffetteria troverete un angolo che si trova prima dell’inizio del museo, dove potrete acquistare riproduzioni di giocattoli vintage, miniature e molto altro. Direttamente dalla cassa avrete anche la possibilità di acquistare i biglietti per l’accesso al museo e se siete in possesso di una museokortti come me, mostratela pure ed entrate senza pagare niente extra, altrimenti il ​​biglietto costa 9 euro.
Visto che è ancora estate e il museo è aperto tutti i giorni fino a fine settembre, vi consiglio vivamente di visitarlo se volete tornare per un attimo bambini, altrimenti se non fate in tempo, potete sempre visitarlo durante il periodo natalizio con tutte le decorazioni a tema.
Al di fuori di queste due stagioni, il museo è aperto principalmente nei fine settimana e anche durante il periodo pasquale!
