Hey guys! I know I haven't written anything in a while, but I was planning to write this article, just because last Sunday, 15.05, the long waited japanese event "Rohuvuoren Hanami" finally took place. Yes, because over the past two years the event has been cancelled due to the pandemic.
Hanami is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers. Every year the Hanami festival takes place in May when trees are in blossom at the Rohuvuoren Kirsikkapuisto, just like in Japan.
Rohuvuoren Kirsikkapuisto is the one and the only big cherry park in Helsinki, located in East Helsinki. It's easily reachable from Herttoniemi metro station. During the spring season this park is the most visited one in Helsinki.
The park was opened in 2007 and it has about 300 cherry trees, which were planted by the Helsinki's Japanese community. The idea of creating a cherry orchard in the city of Helsinki started with the proposal made by a local entrepreneur, Norio Tomida, to the Public Works Department back in 2005. In fact he proposed the idea to donate cherry trees to the city as a sign of gratitude and so it went.
The event began at 12 pm and lasted til 6pm and I finally had the opportunity to go there, since I've never seen it before. Me and my boyfriend went around 1pm, but unfortunately the weather was a bit windy and rainy that we couldn't really enjoy the event that much :/ . But anyways it was good to look at the pinky view, to enjoy the festive atmosphere, to wear my lovely Japanese outfit and take some pictures in it, to admire some girls wearing kimonos or gothic lolita outfits, and many other things. The event was totally free. The next Hanami event will be next year in May.
Anyways if you still didn't have the chance to visit this beautiful park, I recommend you to take the advantage to go and check it out this month when flower are still in bloom either for a picnic or a photoshoot, like I did last year. But before going there carefully check the weather, that recently seems to be very uncertain.

Rohuvuoren Hanami
Ciao ragazzi! Non pubblico niente da un po' di tempo qui, ma avevo intenzione di scrivere questo articolo proprio perché domenica scorsa 15.05 si è finalmente svolto il tanto atteso evento giapponese "Rohuvuoren Hanami". Hanami è un termine giapponese che si riferisce alla tradizionale usanza giapponese di godere della bellezza della fioritura primaverile degli alberi. Ogni anno il festival Hanami si svolge a maggio quando gli alberi di ciliegio sono in fiore nel Rohuvuoren Kirsikkapuisto, proprio come in Giappone. Purtroppo l'Hanami è stato annullato per 2 anni consecutivi a causa della pandemia.
Il Rohuvuoren Kirsikkapuisto è l'unico grande parco di ciliegi di Helsinki, visitato maggiormente nel periodo primaverile, in particolare a maggio. Esso è situato a est della città ed è facilmente raggiungibile a piedi dalla stazione metro di Herttoniemi.
Il parco è stato inaugurato nel 2007 e conta circa 300 ciliegi, che sono stati piantati in seguito alla sponsorizzazione della comunità giapponese di Helsinki. L'idea di creare un ciliegeto nella capitale finlandese è nata grazie alla proposta di un imprenditore locale, di nome Norio Tomida, al Dipartimento delle Infrastrutture e dei Lavori Pubblici nel 2005. Egli infatti propose di far piantare i ciliegi proprio dalla comunità giapponese di Helsinki come segno di gratitudine verso la città.
L'evento di domenica scorsa è iniziato alle 12:00 ed è finito verso le 18:00 e finalmente ho avuto l'opportunità di andarci, dato che me lo sono sempre perso per un motivo o per un altro. Io e il mio ragazzo siamo andati verso le 13:00, ma sfortunatamente il tempo era parecchio ventoso e a un certo punto si è messo anche a piovere e purtroppo non abbiamo potuto goderci appieno l'evento :/ , ma comunque è stato bello godersi l'allegra atmosfera tutta in rosa del parco, indossare il mio adorato outfit giapponese e scattare qualche foto, ammirare delle ragazze che indossavano kimoni o abiti da gothic lolita, ecc. L'evento era gratuito e aperto a tutti e la prossima edizione si terrà l'anno prossimo sempre a maggio.
Ad ogni modo, se ancora non avete avuto la possibilità di visitare questo bellissimo parco, vi consiglio di andarci questo mese quando i fiori sono ancora nel pieno della loro fioritura, e perché no, potreste anche organizzare un picnic o un servizio fotografico, non sarebbe affatto male. Ecco degli scatti che mi sono fatta fare l'anno scorso.
P.s.: Prima di andare al parco assicuratevi che il tempo sia buono, dato che ultimamente sembra essere molto incerto.
